Varietal: 100% Valdiguié Rosé
Alcohol: 12%
Vineyard: Green Valley Vineyard, located in Solano County, nestled between Napa and the Suisun Valley. This is a new site for me and I am in love. I’ve been trying to work with vineyards as close to the winery as possible and this is only 35 minutes away or so. It was planted in the late 80’s and is farmed organically.
Vinification: Fruit was directly pressed and allowed to settle overnight. The next day it was moved into neutral french oak barrels to ferment, where it remained for 6 months before bottling. Spontaneously fermented, unfined, unfiltered.
The Wine: You can really feel the texture of the barrel fermentation with this rosé. Notes of strawberry and apricots. A little bit of residual sugar is balanced by the wine's acidity.
